I was born in Hamburg, Germany. In the year 2000 I enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I completed my studies with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2004) and Master of Fine Arts (2008) degree, majoring in Illustration. Since July 2008 I live and work as a freelance illustrator and painter in Berlin. I have worked for several children’s book publishers in Germany and abroad.
Since January of 2009 I am teaching Illustration classes at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
My work has been accepted to the Society of Illustrator’s student competition in 2001 in New York as well as three Society of Illustrator’s West competitions 44, 46 and 48 (Bronze Award) in Los Angeles in the years 2004, 2008 and 2009. During 2002-2008 my work was displayed at the annual Spring Show at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In 2008 I received the Best of Show Award. My work has been published at the renowned CMYK magazine in America in the November edition as well as the German eselsohr magazine in the year 2010.

My aim is to create pictures and illustrations that appeal to the emotions and interests of a variety of age groups. It is important to me that the literary content of the authors work is interpreted in a visually effective and intellectual way.
